The Truth of Me" is a symbolic EP for singer-songwriter Ellie Meriz. The five tracks that constitute it bear universal themes such as the passing of time, love and its games, all leading to the visceral need for authenticity from which Ellie draws her evocative title.
On this five-track EP, the dream pop sound of Ellie Meriz's songs is more asserted, all the instruments contributing to it in their own way.
Indeed, the delicate piano opening the ball on "Want You Around", the bewitching bottleneck melody on "Nothing's Never To Be Mine", the detuned synth on "In love (with it)" as well as the ambient backing vocals on all the tracks, are a few examples that you couldn't possibly miss when listening to this EP.
